Packaging/ Exhibition Design
olfactory is a scent capturing tool kit that brings memories back to life and treasures it forever.
Inside the box, it provides jars, cotton, tweezer and a pamphlet of directions on how to use the kit.
The project was inspired by a quote from Heart Sutra
“No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body or mind; no form, sound, smell, taste, touch or mind object; no realm of the eye, until we come to no realm of consciousness.”
The concept of the project is exploring the idea of presence and absence. The presence of the sense, presume other senses being fulfilled, and the absence of the senses, amplifies the one sense being extracted. Therefore, when the smell is being extracted, it amplifies the experience. The creation of olfactory toolkit is to capture the present moment with scents and archive the absent memories.
