IVORYFREE

Digital Design/ Infographic

This project is a case study of the ivory trade.

The whole concept behind the project is to bring
awareness and provide basic understandings on
the subject of ivory trade for people who don’t
know about this topic.

Initiative

Why? Because one of the biggest threats to the elephant population is the ivory trade, and the underlying problem is illegal poaching. Elephants, both Asian and African elephants, have been listed as an endangered species during the 1980s, meaning they are in danger of extinction. As of today, the statistic shows that if the rate of declining elephant population continues, in the year 2025 elephants will be extinct.

What drives me to do this project?

The reason behind this case study was to do
a project surrounding the topic on elephants,
which I personally am fascinated by their
spirit. Elephants are the largest land animal
in the world, and their emotional intelligence
is incredible just like human beings. They
have a sense of empathy, friendship, and
family bonds. But these incredibly gentle and
intelligent beast are facing danger every day.

Audience

The project is targeted to the people who are
unaware of the situation, and people who love
elephants and interested in wildlife conversation.
One can imagine the site being shared through
wildlife conversation camps and people who
are interested in learning the ivory trade and how it
affects the elephant’s population.
